Senior Systems/Network Engineers

We are looking for a talented, energetic Senior Systems/Network Engineers for our office in Sunnyvale CA. This is a high visibility, mission critical position within a fast paced growing startup. A high degree of professionalism and ability to juggle multiple high visibility issues is a must along with the ability to effectively manage the relationship with non-technical employees. This position also requires a strong ability take initiative and both identify and implement improvements to processes or systems to increase efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the security of the systems and network elements
• Work effectively with non-technical staff in identifying and resolving issues and queries
• Troubleshoot Server and Desktop hardware, software, and networking problems
• Build, configure, and install desktop and server equipment.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and recover Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Operating Systems and conducts application software loads
• Install and configure hMailServer or any free e-mail server for Microsoft Windows.
• Ability to design and use Active Directories and comfortable with multi server environments
• Maintain current status of software, applying security hot fixes and system patches, backups, antivirus and spyware
• Schedule and maintain system backups and periodically test system restores
• Install, configure and maintain NETGEAR firewalls.
• Install, configure and maintain VPN

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years minimum experience
• Experience with Microsoft - based platforms
• Experience with the installation/configuration of NETGEAR Firewalls and VPN
• Experience with the installation/configuration of switches and printers
• Experience working on both servers and desktops
• Experience in scheduling processes and developing scripts to perform simple tasks such as moving files
